Kamran’s century, Sohaib’s fifer ignites YSS Anantnag District Level Tournament

Anantnag, Aug 03: The Department of Youth Services & Sports Anantnag’s District Level U/19 Cricket Tournament witnessed exhilarating performances at two venues, showcasing young talent and competitive spirit.
At HSS Bhijbehra, HSS Mahind elected to bat first against HSS Furrah, setting a target of 135 runs. Key contributions came from Shahis Saleem and Suhaib, scoring 38 and 34 runs, respectively. Tawqeer’s impressive bowling saw him take 2 wickets in a single over, conceding 16 runs. HSS Furrah, in reply, were dismissed for a mere 55 runs. Sahil Manzoor’s exceptional bowling, with figures of 4 wickets in 2 overs for just 10 runs, led HSS Mahind to a commanding 79-run victory.
In another match at the same venue, HSS Veeri batted first and set a daunting target of 194 runs, thanks to Kamran’s magnificent unbeaten 129-run innings. HSS Achabal, in their chase, were all out for 94 runs. Rouf’s stellar bowling performance, taking 3 wickets in 3 overs, secured an easy win for HSS Veeri by a 99-run margin.
At Sports Dooru, HSS Vessu chose to bat first, putting up a target of 133 runs. Sahil Rafeeq stood out with a brilliant 73-run knock. HSS YK Pora, while chasing, were all out for 73 runs, with Sahil Rafeeq earning the Man of the Match title for his all-round excellence.
In another contest, HSS Checki Wangund opted to field first, restricting HSS Akingam to 92 runs. Danish Hashim top-scored with 35 runs. Despite his efforts, HSS Checki Wangund fell short in their chase, being bowled out for 84 runs. Danish Hashim was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance, scoring 34 runs and taking 3 wickets.
In the final clash, HSS Kabamarg decided to bat first and set a target of 116 runs. HSS Damhall, in their chase, were bundled out for just 74 runs. Sohaib from HSS Kabamarg was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant 5-wicket haul, sealing a notable victory for his team.
