Kupwara, Feb 12: The Juvenile Justice Board Kupwara, under the leadership of Principal Magistrate Mudasir Bashir, Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection at District Jail here.
The Principal Magistrate was accompanied by Board Member Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Legal cum Probationary Officer Amoos Ahmad, CWC Member Rafiq Ahmad Shah, Public Prosecutor and Juvenile Police Unit Kupwara.
The initiative was undertaken in strict adherence to the mandates outlined in the Juvenile Justice Act, ensuring the protection and rights of juveniles in conflict with the law.
During the inspection, the Superintendent Jail facilitated a comprehensive tour of all barracks within the facility, enabling the team to meticulously assess the living conditions and interactions with inmates.
The visit included detailed interactions with inmates to verify their identities and ensure compliance with legal standards.
