JU’s Dogri Dept releases T R Magotra’s ‘Jammu Padhshahi’

Jammu, Feb 18: Prominent Dogri writer T R Magotra’s book ‘Jammu Padhshahi’ – the first-of-its-kind on a complete history of J&K in Dogri language – was released by Prof. Sushma Sharma, Head, Department of Dogri, University of Jammu in a function organized by PG Department of Dogri, University of Jammu. A galaxy of intellectuals, faculty members, scholars and students were present on this occasion.
Prof. Sushma Sharma, while welcoming the audience, congratulated T R Magotra for producing such a book in the Dogri language. She said a language can survive and progress only if it is used in all walks of life like a day-to-day conversation, education, business, media, etc. Special efforts are required to popularize Dogri among the younger generation and children.
T R Magotraalso shared the experience of his life with the audience and threw light on the contents of the book.
Dr. Padam Dev Singh, Assistant Professor of the Department, read out a paper highlighting the literary merits of the Magotra’s Book. He also presented a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and the audience present on the occasion.
