Srinagar, Jan 20: In a historic move, the Junior Girls Cycle Polo team from Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up for a fierce competition as they embark on a challenging journey to Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, to participate in the prestigious 26th Junior National Cycle Polo Championship 2024. The championship, organized by the Cycle Polo Federation of India and Madhya Pradesh Cycle Polo Association, is slated to take place from the 20th to the 22nd of January 2024.
The highly skilled team, meticulously selected through arduous trials at Gindun Stadium Raj Bagh and a rigorous team screening at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar by the J&K Sports Council, boasts a lineup of exceptional talents. The squad comprises Bibi Toyeeba, Dar Iflah, Fiza Kounsar, Dar Jaziba, Tahoora, Sadaf Arif, Dar Irtiza, and Nihana Nazir, who have demonstrated their prowess and dedication to secure a spot in this elite team.
Under the able guidance of coach Vilayat Hussain and the efficient management of team manager Iqra Mushtaq, the team has been meticulously prepared for the upcoming championship. The ceremonial flag-off for the team took place with great enthusiasm, as General Secretary Sheikh Zulfikar extended his best wishes to the young athletes, urging them to bring glory to the region.
