Jumma-tul-Wida observed across Kashmir with religious gaiety

Srinagar, Apr 05: Jumma-tul-Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, was observed on Friday with religious fervour and joy across Kashmir. The largest gathering of devotees was witnessed at the Hazratbal shrine here, where thousands of people offered congregational Friday prayers.
Thousands of people also gathered at other shrines and mosques, including Masjid Jamiat-e-Ahlehadith in Gawkadal, Asar-e-Sharif in Janab Sahib, Soura, Asar-e-Sharif in ShehriKalashpora, ZiaratDastgeer Sahib in Khanyar, ZiaratDastgeer Sahib in SaraiBala, Ziarat-e-Makhdoom Sahib, and Khanqah-e-Mualla. The Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board, which oversees the management of DargahHazratbal, made arrangements for the devotees who flocked to the shrine from early morning.
At several places, using a public addressing system, recitation of the Quran and NaathKhwani was performed while Islamic scholars shed light on the importance of Ramadhan and urged Muslims to perform maximum good deeds in this month to seek the mercy of Allah.
Jumat -ul-Vida holds immense religious significance as the Muslims prepare to bid farewell to the holy month of Ramadan. People attend religious gatherings across various places of worship and spend time in repentance, prayers, and charity. Emotional scenes were witnessed at DargahHazratbal, where thousands of people offered Friday prayers.
The Friday sermons across the valley highlighted to carrying forward the essence of Ramadan into other months to remain connected with Allah and continue performing good deeds. The focus was on understanding how this holy month serves as a period of training for the rest of the year.
It was highlighted that Muslims should strive to be consistently devout, rather than solely during Ramadan, to receive complete rewards from Allah. All religious gatherings were held in a peaceful atmosphere as thousands attended prayers at Hazratbal.
Meanwhile, the markets around the major shrines adorned a festive look on this special day.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir VK Birdi on Friday extended his greetings on the occasion of Jamat-ul-Vida to the people.
The Kashmir Police Zone, while quoting IGP Kashmir posted on X Platform, “IGP Kashmir extends greetings to the people of the valley on the auspicious occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida. May this day be filled with special prayers and abundant blessings for all, reads the post.
JamatUl Vida marks the beginning of the Eid Al Fitr, this day is considered an auspicious day as per Islamic Calendar. People recite the Holy Quran. People celebrate this day with immense joy and happiness. This day is observed with great devotion.(KNS).
