SRINAGAR, May 25: JSW Steel and Bureau of Indian Standards on Monday organised a customer awareness programme in Srinagar to promote the use of quality-certified steel products and safe construction practices.
The event was attended by dealers, contractors, builders, architects and engineers, who were sensitised about BIS certification systems, licensing procedures and the importance of using standardised construction material for durable infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, BIS Scientist-C and Deputy Director Saaqib Raahi urged stakeholders to adhere to quality standards and discourage the use of substandard products in the market.
Representatives of JSW Steel Coated Products Limited also interacted with participants and discussed modern roofing solutions, corrosion-resistant coated products and changing construction requirements in Jammu and Kashmir.
The programme concluded with an interactive session in which participants raised queries related to certification norms, quality standards and developments in the steel sector.
