Doda, Sep 30: District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, on Friday inaugurated a job fair organized by the District Employment & Counselling Centre, here at Government Degree College.
Dozens of stalls were set up by the line departments of district in the fair to create awareness about the self-employment schemes and provide on the spot assistance in getting benefits of different self-employment, community and individual based schemes.
 The DDC inspected the stalls and urged that the schemes be published in English, Hindi and Urdu languages for better understanding of the common beneficiaries. He also directed the concerned to create agro based marketing facilities for the farmers of the district so that they get maximum outcome of their produce.
 He complimented the employment department for roping in private companies working within the district/division to provide employment to educated unemployed youth of the district. He further urged to the students and unemployed youth not to remain dependent on public sector and instead avail opportunities in private sector and avail self-employment schemes available through government department. He encouraged the college students to give innovative ideas to the administration on how to create employment opportunities for the youth and what changes in infrastructure and policies is required to create maximum number of employment opportunities in the district in private sector. He also urged youth to stay vigilant of drug menace and drug peddlers and play their active role in curbing this problem from the society.
 Over a thousand un-employed educated youth and students of Degree College and other institutions participated in the job fair.
 The officers from line departments and private companies explained in detail, nature of posts and self-employment opportunities available with their respective organizations/departments.
 Deputy Director Employment, Mohammad Idrees Lone,spoke during inaugural ceremony and educated the participants about different employment and self-employment schemes run by the Government.
 SSP Doda, ACD Doda Deputy Director Employment, DIO Doda, and other district officers accompanied the DDC in the inaugural function.
