JAMMU, DEC 02: Jammu Municipal Corporation is carrying out multifarious activities under the Jan Abhiyan campaign, in the run up to Second Phase of My Town My Pride.
In continuation of the series of activities, a Nukkad Natak ‘say no to plastic’ and a debate competition on Nasha Mukht JK was organised by JMC on Friday in the Government Girls Polytechnic College, Jammu.
Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; ACR JMC Manisha; Secretary JMC Parvinder Kour; Principal of College Er Neelanjana Manwati, staff members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
The Commissioner JMC, while speaking on the occasion, stressed the need to restrict use of plastic for good with coordinated efforts. He also asked students to take part in constructive activities like sports and choose life not drugs.
The government has taken a slew of measures to fight the menace of plastic and drugs but the cooperation of society especially youth is a must to bring the change, the Commissioner said.
The Principal appreciated the efforts of JMC in creating awareness among students on the ever pressing topics. “Our college will set an example in implementing say no to plastic in college campus,” he said.
