Jammu, Jan 20: The Dharmarth Trust has initiated a three-day-long programme across all Ram temples in Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The three-day religious festivities, including various rituals such as Ramayana recitations, Sunderkand Path, Bhajan recitations and more, commenced on Saturday at Jammu’s historic Raghunath Temple.
Trustee of J&K Dharmarth Trust, Ajatsharu Singh, informed Rising Kashmir that these religious programs for celebrating the consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of Ram Lala would be conducted in all Ram Temples in J&K. A grand function on January 21 and 22, featuring live broadcasts of Ramayana recitations, dance, music, and bhajans sung by artists, is also planned.
In Jammu, the celebrations will take place at five temples, including the Ram Temples at Akhnoor, Samba, Simli Soma in Akhnoor, RS Pura and the Raghunath Temple. Similarly, four Ram Temples in Kashmir, including Badbagh Temple, Khrew and two others in the Kashmir Valley, will host the celebrations for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lala, Ajatshatru said.
The three-day programme at the Raghunath Temple started with the sacred ‘Sunderkand Path’ in the morning. The Dharmarth Trust has invited people to participate in the grand celebrations spanning from January 20-22.
“We have planned a grand function on January 21 and 22, featuring recitations of Ramayana, dance, music, and bhajans sung by artists. It will be broadcast live,” Ajatshatru said.
The preparations for the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya began on January 16 and the idol of Ram Lalla was installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday. The main ceremony will be held at the grand temple on January 22.
