Says new J&K stands firm with determination after five years
Attends DD Kashir’s “Meri Maati Mera Desh” event, honours freedom fighters & martyrs on eve of I-Day

Srinagar, Aug 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended a special event titled “Meri Maati Mera Desh,” hosted by DD Kashir, where he paid tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs on the eve of the 78th Independence Day.
The event was a vibrant celebration of patriotism, featuring a musical program by folk artists and a display of patriotic themes.
In his address, Sinha highlighted the significant progress made in Jammu and Kashmir over recent years. “Our founding fathers, along with the brave personnel of J&K Police, Armed Forces, and CAPFs, have brought peace, enabling both the nation and the Union Territory of J&K to meet the aspirations of its citizens and uphold the ideals of social justice and equality,” Sinha remarked.
He praised the current state of Jammu and Kashmir, stating, “the going has never been as good for J&K UT in the past as it is now. Our economy has been growing, and it is both stable and strong. Over a period of just five years, despite numerous challenges, a new J&K stands firm with steadfast determination.”
Sinha also commended Doordarshan for its role in preserving local art, culture, and heritage while fostering a sense of nationalism. The event included a musical performance and a short film showcasing the develomental journey of Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370.
The event marked the launch of a talent hunt reality show and was attended by notable figures including Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, Vice Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir; Sh. P.P. Shukla, DDG of DD Kashir; Prakash Veer Tyagi, DDG Global Outreach Prasar Bharati; and Sanjeev Sugam, DDG (E), along with senior officials and prominent citizens.
