Anantnag, Sept 22: As part of its community outreach and public awareness initiative, J&K Police organised a Police Station tour and traffic awareness program for students from various educational institutions in Anantnag district. The aim of the tour was to familiarize students with the working procedures of the police department and to promote traffic awareness among the youth.

According to a statement issued here, students were received at local Police Stations by concerned Station House Officers and other police officials. The students were briefed about the internal functioning of the police station, including procedures related to complaint registration, FIR filing, investigation processes, record management, and the general duties of police personnel in maintaining law and order.

The initiative also featured a Traffic Awareness Session conducted by district police officers. Students were educated on vital road safety measures, including the importance of wearing helmets and seatbelts, avoiding mobile phone usage while driving, and the dangers of over speeding and driving under the influence.

Students took keen interest in the tour and interacted enthusiastically with police personnel. They raised several questions related to policing and traffic safety, which were addressed in an open and informative manner.

J&K Police is committed to strengthen police-public relations, especially by engaging with the youth through awareness and outreach programs.
