Jammu, Jan 29: During the Beating Retreat ceremony, Lt. Governor J&K Manoj Sinha awarded Jammu & Kashmir Police Bands and Jammu & Kashmir Police Public School, Jammu contingents and their band for securing top positions during the 74th Republic Day Parade at M A Stadium here.
Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh and Chairperson Jammu & Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) Dr Rubinder Kaur have congratulated the winners for bringing laurels to the Police Pariwar and hoped that the awards will further boost the morale of JK personnel and students of JKPPS.
It is pertinent to mention here that on the eve of 74th Republic Day Parade, Jammu & Kashmir Police Pipe Band and Brass Band secured first and second positions respectively and in the schools contingent categories, JKPPS Band and Girls contingents secured first position while the Boys contingent of the school secured second position.
Similarly, in the Srinagar Republic Day parade, Jammu & Kashmir Police Pipe Band stood 1st while the Boys contingent of JKPPS, Bemina Srinagar secured 3rd position in their respective categories. They were awarded on the same day by the Advisor to Lt Governor J&K R R Bhatnagar.
