Srinagar, April 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has declared the results of the annual regular Class 10 examinations for 2025, with the overall pass percentage reaching an encouraging 79.94%. A total of 145,671 students appeared for the exams across Jammu and Kashmir, of which 116,453 successfully passed, while 29,093 did not qualify.
Girls outshone boys in this year’s results. The pass percentage among girls stood at 81.24%, compared to 78.74% among boys. Of the 75,427 boys who took the exam, 59,390 passed. Meanwhile, 70,244 girls appeared, and 57,063 emerged successful, once again highlighting the growing academic achievements of female students in the region.
The grading pattern shows a wide distribution of academic performance. As many as 16,343 students secured Grade A1, while 18,678 obtained Grade A2. Another 22,219 students earned Grade B1, and 27,171 received Grade B2. A total of 25,583 students were placed in Grade C1, 6,432 in Grade C2, and 49 students were awarded a D grade.
Performance across subjects remained strong. The pass percentage in English was recorded at 84%, while Mathematics and Hindi saw success rates of 88% and 88.5%, respectively. The highest pass percentage was in Urdu, where 92.5% of students cleared the subject. In Science and Social Studies, 90% of the candidates passed.
Among the standout achievers this year is Arbeena Bilal, daughter of Bilal Ahmad Wani, who scored an impressive 498 out of 500 marks. She was closely followed by Afreen Mushtaq, who secured 497 marks, and Mohammad Asseeb Wani, who also attained 497 marks out of 500. Their exceptional performance has been widely appreciated, symbolizing academic excellence in the region.
The 2025 results highlight not only the steady improvement in educational outcomes across Jammu and Kashmir but also the increasing performance gap being closed by female students in the region.
