Private schools lead in JKBOSE Class 10th results with 91.83% success rate

Two girls from Kashmir lead with 99.6% marks
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced the results of the annual regular examinations for class 10th across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh union territories, scoring a commendable overall pass percentage of 79.25%. Out of the 146,136 candidates who appeared for the exams, 115,816 students successfully cleared them.
Female students have outperformed their male counterparts with a pass percentage of 81.10%, compared to 77.33% for male students. Notably, students from private schools achieved a higher success rate of 91.83% as compared to 72.91% for government schools.
A total of 97,143 students from Government Schools of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh union territory appeared for the exams, with 70,828 qualifying, resulting in a pass percentage of 72.91 percent. On the other hand, 48,993 students from private schools appeared for the exams, with 44,988 qualifying, resulting in a pass percentage of 91.83 per cent. It is noteworthy that students from private schools had a higher success rate compared to those from government schools.
Interestingly, female students from the Kashmir valley outperformed male students in the Class 10exams as compared to other students from Ladakh union territory and Jammu division.
Female students from the Kashmir valley have once again demonstrated exceptional academic prowess in the JKBOSE Class 10th annual regular examinations for 2024, surpassing their male counterparts and peers from Ladakh union territory and Jammu division.
Tabinda Jan and AayatEshan, both from the Kashmir valley, secured the highest marks of 498 out of 500, achieving an impressive 99.6%. In addition, MalihaSareer, SehreenZahoor, AyatNisar, Raja Ibrahim Mohd Khan, and RubtaMukhtar also excelled with 497 marks each, marking 99.4%.
Furthermore, an outstanding group of 27 students from the Kashmir valley, including Arbeena Bashir, Arsha Ashraf, LumatAijaz, AayatJee, and others listed, achieved 496 marks out of 500, translating to a remarkable 99.2% score.
The results also revealed that 14,115 students achieved Grade A1, 17,471 got grade A2, 23,365 were placed at grade B1, 29,117 got grade B2, 25,467 got grade C1, 6,269 got C2, and 45 got D grade.
In English subject 83% of students passed, while in Mathematics 88% passed. In Hindi 96% passed, in Urdu 91% passed, in Science 87% passed, and in Social Studies, 92% passed the 10th-grade annual Regular examinations 2024.
However, two students from Kashmir valley Tabinda Jan and AayatEshan scored the highest marks of 498 out of 500, which is 99.6%.

“It is really a matter of pride to see that girls have secured higher percentage than that of boys. Though it was their first Board examination, but the students have great enthusiasm; the pass percentage of 79.25% is a witness to this fact. I congratulate all the students and teachers for their hard work. Those students who could not make it this time should try again with revised strategies. JKBOSE is consistent in its efforts for upgrading and fine-tuning its mechanisms and processes for the student welfare and I am sanguine that with the implementation of more initiatives in pipeline, many services will be further improved,” Manhas said.
In order to facilitate the access of students to the result gazette, the JKBOSE has made adequate arrangements through various media. Their result has been made available on Digilocker service. For this the students will have to download Digilocker App and register them after filling the required details. The marks sheets are also accessible on Digilocker. The result is also available online on the official website of JKBOSE www.jkbose.nic.in. Those who don’t have access to Mobile Phones or internet can get their results from their nearest JKBOSE office where the soft copies of result gazettes have been provided. The result is also available in the offices of the Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts for the convenience of the students and general public.
In case of any query regarding this result, the students have been advised to email their queries, if any, at [email protected] (for Jammu Division) and [email protected] (for Kashmir Division) citing all the relevant details which shall be addressed after due processing at the earliest possible. The aggrieved students, if any, can contact their respective schools or the nearest JKBOSE Sub/Branch office. JKBOSE provides an opportunity to the students to get a photocopy and re-evaluation of their answer sheets for which they can apply online after the notification is issued in this regard. It is further advised that any student having any query should not panic and should feel free to contact BOSE office or her/his school.
