Jammu, Mar 10: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party commemorated its 4th foundation day and International Women’s Day at Khara Balli Tehsil of Chhamb Constituency, organized by Ganesh Dass Sharma, General Secretary of JKAP Jammu District Rural A. The event saw a significant turnout of party workers and women, who participated with great enthusiasm.
The party flag was hoisted by Pushap Dev Kumar Uppal, District President of Jammu Rural A, and thereafter, he delivered a lecture highlighting the importance of the day and the party’s commitment to serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The occasion served as a reminder to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that following the abrogation of special status by the government, there was widespread concern about the loss of job rights, land rights, and the potential influx of outsiders settling in the region.
“Amidst this uncertainty, the leadership of Jammu and Kashmir remained silent, except for Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, who, along with like-minded individuals from various parties, advocated for the protection of people’s rights before the central leadership. The formation of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party on March 8, 2020, marked a historic day in this struggle,” the party said in a statement.
Uppal elaborated on the party’s agenda to the workers, emphasizing initiatives such as providing 500 units of free electricity to all households, increasing financial assistance for the elderly, widows, destitute, and handicapped individuals, enhancing marriage assistance, and ensuring swift delivery of benefits such as the Ujjwala scheme. The party said it aims to restore the old pension scheme for employees, provide unemployment allowances to graduate and above youths until they secure employment, and prioritize the restoration of statehood and early conduct of assembly elections.
The foundation day event was attended by Beli Ram, Vice President of Jammu Rural, Puran Chand Pujari Thandi Choi, Kara Balli, and local workers of the Apni Party, further solidifying the party’s commitment to serving the people and advocating for their rights.
