Jammu, June 26: To mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a special awareness programme was organised Thursday by JKAP-8th Battalion Miran Sahib Jammu with the aim to raise public awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of a drug-free society under over supervision of Suram Singh (SSP) Commandant JKAP-8th Bn.
CO JKAP-8th Bn highlighted the psychological, social and legal consequences of drug abuse and emphasized the need for community-based approaches for prevention and rehabilitation. Speaking on the occasion, Commandant urged the youth to stay away from drugs and choose healthy lifestyles. He also stressed the importance of collective efforts to combat drug trafficking and addiction through education, enforcement and support systems. The event concluded with the taking of a drug-free pledge by all participants, reaffirming their commitment to build a healthier and safer society.
