Srinagar, Feb 12: Commending the talent and potential possessed by the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, Munjapara Mahendrabhai, MoS (Women and Child Development & Ayush) Government of India on Monday said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have tremendous talent and potential while they are on the right track, contributing to the development of the country.
Addressing the media persons on the sidelines of Rozgar Mela held under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI, BSF Kashmir Frontier Campus Headquarters Humhama, he said in recent years, IAS, IPS, BSF, CRPF Officers, etc are coming from the soil of the J&K and it proves that youth are on the right track and contributing to the country’s development.
Dr. Munjapara said apart from government jobs, the youth in the Kashmir region are actively engaging in the startup culture and private sector to advance in their respective domains. Through these endeavors, the youth of the J&K are making significant strides forward,” he said.
He said that Kashmir is globally known for its quality saffron, walnuts, and apples. It is encouraging to witness the youth actively exploring opportunities within these sectors.
Dr Munjapara said that the thriving tourism industry in the region can play a crucial role in alleviating the unemployment crisis.
“I am always ready to serve the youth of Kashmir, whenever they need my services. This initiative in Srinagar is part of the larger commitment made by the Prime Minister Modi-led Central Government to generate 10 lakh jobs for the youth,” he added.
“On the occasion, 19 candidates hailing from J&K and five from other states, were given appointment letters. They will be serving in multiple departments including CAPFs, Central University Kashmir, Postal Department, and Income Tax Department,” Dr. Munjapara said after that they were registered in Karmayogi training through various modules.
Dr. Munjapara said the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare has launched various schemes for women and youth in Jammu and Kashmir and people will continue to avail benefits of such schemes in the future.
He also apprised the audience about the recruitment drive launched by Govt of India by filling vacancies against sanctioned posts in a mission mode through recruitment agencies.
The MoS reiterated that “Rozgar Mela” is an important step towards fulfilling the Prime Minister’s continued commitment to provide employment opportunities to the youth and ensure the welfare of society.
On the occasion, Inspector General, BSF Kashmir Ashok Yadav, apprised the audience about sensitivity of the border under the Kashmir Frontier and how BSF has been effectively dealing with the challenges on LoC along with the Army, CAPF, and in aiding civil authorities.
He also applauded the role of civil society for the overall growth and harmonious environment in the region.
At the event, there was great enthusiasm among the newly appointed youth and they expressed their gratitude to the PM fast-track process in job recruitment.
Imtiyaz Ahmad, a resident of Poonch, who was handed over an appointment letter in the Postal Department, said he is thankful to the central government for fast-track recruitment and pledged that he will work with honesty and dedication in the department. Such programs should be held in future also, so that more youth will benefit.
Another aspirant, Mohammad Farooq who has been appointed at the Central University of Kashmir says it is good to see that the entire recruitment process has been completed in less than three months.
“By doing such recruitment drives, aspirants are not losing their interest. Unlike other recruitment agencies which take years to declare results and due to that youth got demoralized,” he said.
On this occasion, more than one lakh offers of appointments across various regional centers were handed over to the newly inducted candidates, wherein Prime Minister Narendra Modi initially addressed the newly appointed candidates through virtual mode.
He congratulated the candidates and their families on this momentous occasion and highlighted that Rozgar Mela will provide meaningful opportunities to the youth in nation-building.
