J&K witnesses decline in terror related violence: IG CRPF, Sgr

Srinagar, Dec 19: Inspector General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Srinagar Sector, Ajay Yadav  Tuesday credited the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the youth, for the notable decline in terrorism-related violence in the region.
He expressed gratitude for the immense support received and stated that positive change is evident not only in traditional fields like cricket and football but across various sports.
Addressing the reporters during the inauguration of 1st edition of the CRPF Football Cup 2023 Srinagar Sector Championship  Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar, IG CRPF Yadav said that youth  major’s contribution to the improved situation in the valley. 
He expressed optimism for the future, stating his strong belief that the coming year would witness further positive developments with continued support from the people.
“The football tournament aims to engage and provide a constructive path for young individuals. We hope that many participants would eventually represent India in sports, contributing to the emergence of talented players,” the IG CRPF said.
The senior officer assured that such initiatives, integral to the CRPF’s civic action program, would be an ongoing commitment to keeping the youth actively involved.
Responding to questions about the paramilitary force’s readiness to provide security for elections in Jammu and Kashmir, he said they are already  prepared for any responsibility. 
IG CRPF Yadav highlighted the CRPF’s commitment to engaging with the youth of Kashmir through sports activities. 
“The objective of the CRPF Football Cup 2023 is to provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills, excel in their careers, and potentially contribute to state and national-level teams, thereby bringing laurels to the country,” he said.
The tournament is being organised by Srinagar Sector CRPF under the Civic Action Programme and in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, the CRPF Football Cup 2023 aligns with the mission of My Youth My Pride, emphasising the empowerment and pride associated with youth engagement.
The event marked a significant step in fostering a strong bond between CRPF and the youth of Kashmir through the medium of sports.
The football extravaganza was officially kicked off by IG Srinagar Sector, in presence of Sudhir Kumar, DIG Srinagar North, Mathew A John, DIG Srinagar South, DK Singh, DIG Ops Srinagar Sector, Rajesh Kumar, DIG Group Centre, Srinagar, along with Commandants and senior officers of Srinagar Sector.
