Srinagar, Dec 16: The three-day UT Level Chess Championship concluded at Srinagar Sports Club SKISC here. The championship was organised by “The Kashmir Chess Club” in collaboration with All J&K Chess Association under the aegis of J&K Sports Council.
On the closing ceremony, Manager SKISC Mr Masood Ahmad, who was the chief guest, distributed cash prizes and trophies among the winners. The officials of sports and other members of All J&K Chess Association were also present. A total of 40 selected players were invited to the tournament from all over the Union Territory.
Soham Kamotra from district Jammu secured 1st position, Ajit Singh from Unhampur secured 2nd position, Faisal Farooq Dhar from Ganderbal secured 3rd position and Khalid Amin from Srinagar secured 4th position. The top 4 players will represent JK UT in MPL 59th Senior National Chess Championship–2022 to be held in New Delhi from December 22, 2022, to January 3, 2023.
