J&K UT-Level Ball Badminton Championship Concludes with Enthusiasm

Srinagar, March 26: The J&K UT-Level Ball Badminton Championship 2024-25, meticulously organised by the J&K Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded with resounding success at the Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar. This premier sporting event, held from March 24 to March 26, witnessed the participation of 25 teams and 250 distinguished athletes, representing various districts, schools and sports clubs across the J&K.
The championship’s closing ceremony was adorned by the presence of eminent dignitaries, whose invaluable contributions elevated the prestige of the event– Chief Guest, Mohd Iqbal (Incharge Manager Gindun Sports Stadium Raj Bagh Srinagar), Guest of Honour Ajaz Ahmad (Assistant Manager, Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar), Special Guest: Irfan Ahmad (Chief Coach, Rugby), District Representatives and Distinguished Sports Officials and Organising Secretary Mohsin Farooq Khan.
In recognition of exemplary performances and unwavering sportsmanship, medals and certificates were conferred upon the most outstanding players, while mementos were presented to key officials in appreciation of their indispensable role in ensuring the championship’s seamless execution.
This championship served as a strategic talent-identification platform, meticulously selecting the most meritorious athletes who will now represent Jammu and Kashmir at the National-Level Ball Badminton Championship. Their selection marks a pivotal step towards fortifying the region’s prominence in the national sporting arena. The championship was held in strict accordance with the Ball Badminton Federation of India (BBFI) regulations, the championship was executed with unparalleled efficiency, ensuring the highest standards of fair play, professionalism, and athletic integrity. The J&K Sports Council, alongside a team of technical officials and ground staff, played an instrumental role in orchestrating a championship of exceptional calibre. The J&K Ball Badminton Association extends profound gratitude to all participants, dignitaries, and stakeholders whose steadfast commitment contributed to the championship’s unmitigated success. The association remains resolute in its mission to propel Ball Badminton to greater heights and to cultivate a robust ecosystem for athletic excellence within the region.
