Srinagar, Aug 13: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said that the remarkable response to the Tiranga rally held in Srinagar stands as a robust rebuttal to skeptics who questioned the Tricolour’s significance post the Article 370 abrogation.
Speaking to media on the sidelines of the Tiranga Yatra, thousands of enthusiastic citizens participated in the walkathon, marching from KICC to the Botanical Garden.
“The rally’s display of the Tricolour held high and the fervent enthusiasm among participants has translated the aspirations of numerous Kashmiris into reality,” asserted LG Sinha during the Tiranga rally.
Lt. Governor Sinha stated that the turnout at Sunday’s rally has delivered a strong message to those who had cast doubts on the Tricolour’s acceptance in the Valley following the Article 370 revocation. “Each and every youth in Jammu and Kashmir holds the Tricolour in high esteem and safeguards its honour,” he emphasized after inaugurating the “Tiranga Rally” at the renowned Dal Lake.
Highlighting the Tricolor’s symbolic representation of freedom fighters’ and martyrs’ dreams, Lt. Governor Sinha paid tribute, stating, “I pay my respects to the great personalities who have made invaluable contributions and fought till their last breath for the nation’s progress and prosperity.”
“Today the entire J&K is participating in the Tiranga Yatra. The Tricolor is flying high in the sky, streets are filled with enthusiasm. Participation of men, women, youths and senior citizens across the UT is an inspiration for the country as well,” the Lt Governor said.
He said collective efforts of J&K are propelling them toward a more promising future. People from various walks of life are collaborating with unwavering determination to shape the destiny of J&K and contribute to the journey of a developed India. This unity resonates with shared sentiment—may our cherished and triumphant Tricolour unfurl high on the global stage,” he added.
“Let us stride forward hand in hand, our hearts pulsating as one. Such is the commitment of the Tiranga Yatra that unites every segment of our society under a common sentiment. From Pulwama to Poonch, from Kulgam to Kathua, from Jammu to Srinagar, residences in all 20 districts are rejoicing and raising the Tricolour high,” he added.
At KICC, the Lt Governor administered the Prime Minister’s ‘Panch Pran’ pledge to the public representatives, officials and citizens who gathered in huge numbers to participate in the Tiranga Yatra.
“Together, J&K is marching towards a brighter future. People from all walks of life are working with one resolve-to shape the future of J&K and contribute in the journey of ‘Viksit Bharat’. All are united in emotion- may our beloved and victorious Tricolor fly high in the world,” he said.
The Lt Governor also expressed gratitude to the media fraternity for their support to the UT administration in creating a conducive environment in Jammu & Kashmir.
