JAMMU, FEB 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday underscored the remarkable transformation of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) from misgovernance to good governance under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the abrogation of Article 370.
Addressing the gathering at the ‘Sushasan Mahotsav 2024’ organised by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini in New Delhi today, Lt. Governor Sinha emphasised Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Citizen-First’ mantra as the guiding principle that inspired the evolution of J&K’s new model of governance termed ‘Future Ready Governance.’
Describing J&K’s ‘Future Ready Governance’ as future-driven, technology-assisted, and human-centric, Lt. Governor Sinha elaborated on the robust conceptual framework developed to integrate these elements holistically, aimed at creating a futuristic governance model.
“We have initiated pilot projects to serve as Proofs of Concept and models for conveying the innovative ideas embedded in the framework. Simultaneously, we are establishing adaptive and resilient systems to enhance organizational capacity to cater precisely to each citizen’s needs,” remarked Lt. Governor Sinha.
Explaining the human-centric aspect, Lt. Governor Sinha delineated two components: empowering governmental employees as agents of transformation and engaging citizens as partners in setting priorities and modalities aligned with their needs and aspirations.
In a special session focusing on the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Lt. Governor Sinha shared the administration’s reforms and vision aimed at enhancing policy performance and addressing future challenges.
Asserting that ‘Future Ready Governance’ is not merely a theoretical concept but the beginning of a journey to improve every individual’s life in Jammu & Kashmir, Lt. Governor Sinha expressed commitment to developing future-driven strategies and exploring new pathways.
“We are exploring scientific tools such as Artificial Intelligence and Big Data-based Strategic Foresight to envision evidence and data-based future scenarios. Additionally, we contemplate establishing a ‘Centre for New Age Governance’ to provide requisite knowledge inputs and capacity-building support,” added Lt. Governor Sinha.
Lt Governor Sinha also paid homage to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Rambhau Mhalgi, acknowledging their significant contributions to nation-building.
The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Vice-Chairman of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, senior journalist Harshvardhan Tripathi, eminent personalities from diverse fields, and members of the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini organization.
