Srinagar, Feb 23:  The Met Centre Srinagar has predicted a fresh spell of snowfall in the region from the evening of February 25 to February 28.

According to the forecast, the skies will remain generally dry on February 23-24, but a western disturbance is expected to bring light to moderate rain and snow to most places in the Kashmir and Jammu divisions from the evening of February 25 to February 28. Isolated heavy rain and snowfall are also expected during this period.

The snowfall is expected to continue till March 1-2, with generally cloudy skies and light rain/snow at scattered to fairly widespread places.

While the snowfall may cause temporary disruptions in surface transportation, especially over high-altitude passes like Sadhna Pass, Razdhan Pass, and Sonamarg-Zojila-Gumri axis, tourists and travelers are advised to plan accordingly and follow administrative and traffic advisories.

Farmers, on the other hand, are advised to suspend irrigation and other farm operations to avoid any damage to their crops.
