Srinagar, Sept 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has decided to pool 15 percent (pc) of its medical seats to All from India Quota (AIQ) from the current fiscal.
BOPEE said this in a notice giving out the roll number of the candidates for MBBS, BDS, BUMS, BAMS and BPT courses-2022 who have appeared in the NEET-UG-2022 from Union Territories (UTs) of Jammu and Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh.
Controller of the examination for BOPEE said, “It is for the information of the eligible candidates that from current year, the government of Jammu and Kashmir has decided to contribute 15 percent seats for All India Quota (AIQ) as per the above referred letters.”
Earlier, the National Testing Agency (NTA), New Delhi conducted NEET-UG 2022 for admission to Under-Graduate Medical Courses on July-17 and declared its results on September 07.
The board said that the candidates who have appeared in NEET-UG-2022 from other states or UTs and whose roll numbers do not figure in the list of BOPEE but claim to belong to the UTs of JK and Ladakh shall have to submit all relevant documents at BOPEE Office Jammu or Srinagar physically up to 03rd October 2022.
“The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has provided the result of candidates belonging to the UTs of J&K/ Ladakh, who have appeared in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), to the Board on 26th September 2022,” reads the notification.
It also said that the board will notify the schedule for online or offline registration of eligible candidates separately and the eligible and the willing candidates in their own interest are advised to remain in touch with the BOPEE website for daily updates and keep all the relevant documents or certificates ready for registration as and when asked for the same.
In the previous year, there has been a standstill amid the medical students and the Jammu and Kashmir administration over the pooling of medical MBBS and postgraduate seats in the AIQ.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration then had promised the medicos that it will ask the concerned authorities in centre to postpone the JK’s 15 percent pool for AIQ quota by one academic year and from this year the authorities has now decided to pool it for the outside students.
