Srinagar, May 28:: In a significant move towards modernization, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Sports Council announced its plans to transition to a digital platform, aiming to streamline services and enhance accessibility for players and sports associations. This shift will eliminate the need for physical visits to the council’s office, allowing individuals to access information and avail benefits remotely.
According to an official from the J&K Sports Council, the decision to go digital was driven by the objective of improving efficiency and ensuring easy availability of services.
“Previously, players who participated in various sports at different levels and were entitled to sports certificates had to endure the tedious and time-consuming process of personally visiting the office. However, with the upcoming digital platform, they will be able to conveniently upload their documents and receive their certificates in a shorter span of time,” the official said.
Additionally, the digital platform will provide comprehensive details about different associations and players affiliated with the J&K Sports Council. This will enable stakeholders to access relevant information and stay updated with the latest developments in the sports community.
The J&K Sports Council is renowned for its four in-house academies dedicated to Wushu, football, gymnastics, and cricket. Furthermore, it boasts an extensive network of 100 Khelo India Centers spread across Jammu and Kashmir. The digital transformation will also cover water sports, events organized by associations affiliated with the Sports Council, youth-focused activities like “My Youth, My Pride,” para sports, women’s sports initiatives, sports programs for the elderly, retired athletes, and overall sports activities.
However Moreover, the digital platform will facilitate the automation of various processes, including the maintenance of cumulative data of registered players and the seamless renewal of sports associations. These initiatives will not only expedite administrative procedures but also ensure accurate and up-to-date records, he added.
He believes that the move towards digitization marks a significant stride for the J&K Sports Council in aligning with modern technology and embracing the benefits it offers. By harnessing the power of digital platforms, the council aims to enhance its services, foster convenience, and empower athletes and associations associated with the vibrant sports landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
As the council gears up to embark on this digital transformation, stakeholders and sports enthusiasts eagerly await the implementation of the new platform, which is set to revolutionize the sports ecosystem and promote efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity in the realm of sports administration.
