Srinagar, Apr07: The Jammu and Kashmir health department has sent a requisition to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India for 10,000 precautionary covid 19 vaccination doses, especially for people with comorbidities.

Corbevax,  India’s first indigenously developed RBD protein subunit vaccine, is currently being used to inoculate adults in the age group of 18 to 80 years under the immunization program.
“Vaccine is a preventive aspect. The precautionary dose is given to those people who have already received the first and second dose of the Covid-19 vaccination,” he said.
“We have requested the Government of India that the process is going and the requisition is same for the entire country,” the State Immunization Officer said.
The Covid- 19 precautionary doses will be first administered to the vulnerable and comorbid people across Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said after the first vaccination drive of administering precautionary doses to vulnerable groups, the government would continue further drives and administer precautionary doses to the adults, teenagers and children.
