J&K Pollution Control Committee, Kashmir today conducted cleanliness drive under “Swachhata Hi Seva” mission with the theme “Garbage Free India”.
A massive campaign started at Shankar Acharya Hills in Srinagar where cleanliness drive was lead by the Principal Secretary Forest, Dheeraj Gupta, in which senior officers of the Forest Deptt and its sister organisation participated.
Huge quantity of solid waste spread in forest areas and on roads was collected and disposed off in eco-friendly jute bags.
As the part of the campaign, a joint drive was also conducted in the Regional office of JK PCC Srinagar alongwith Social Forestry Deptt wherein staff of both the Deptts participated under the guidance of RD PCC Kashmir, Rafi Ahmad Bhat and RD SF Kashmir Mehrajudin.
The campaign ended with the pledge ceremony conducted by Sabiya Mahajan I/c Awareness Cell JK PCC Kashmir.
