As the second phase of the Assembly elections draws near, Abrar Rashid, son of Engineer Rashid Sheikh, is set to lead a major campaign for the AIP (Awami Ittihad Party) in support of their Ganderbal constituency candidate, Sheikh Ashiq. The campaign is scheduled to take place tomorrow, with expectations of a strong turnout.
After a series of campaigns by AIP across North and South Kashmir, this campaign is seen as a significant push for their Ganderbal candidate ahead of the second phase of voting.
Sheikh Ashiq told Rising Kashmir that Abrar Rashid’s involvement will bolster the party’s presence in the constituency.
“I am confident that this door-to-door campaign will strengthen AIP’s position in Ganderbal,” Ashiq stated, adding that he will personally participate in the campaign to engage with the local electorate.
The final phase of the campaign is expected to be led by Engineer Rashid, the party’s patron, as they continue their push ahead of the elections.
