Jammu, Aug 15: J&K Police Public Schools, established at Jammu, Srinagar, Rajouri, Doda, Anantnag, Baramulla and Kupwara, running under the aegis of J&K Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) joined the nation in celebrating the 77th Independence Day with patriotic fervour.
A police spokesperson in a statement issued here said, “The celebrations began early in the morning with the hoisting of the national flag at each school campus. The principals of all J&K Police Public Schools hoisted the national flag and organised colourful programmes which included singing of patriotic songs and delivering lectures by principals and students highlighting the significance of the Independence Day.”
The principals of the schools distributed sweets among all the students, teaching and non-teaching staff members. The students of the schools also participated in the UT and district-level Independence Day functions and mesmerised the audience with their performances.
At the UT-level programme held at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar, Boys (March Past) and Girls (Band) Contingents of J&K Police Public School Srinagar got 3rd Position and Consolation Prize respectively. They were awarded trophies by the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
The Boys (Band) and Girls (March Past) contingents of J&K Police Public School, Jammu bagged First and Third Positions respectively at the Zonal level main function held at MAM Stadium, Jammu. The March Past contingent and Cultural troupe of J&K Police Public School, Doda secured Consolation Prizes in both events held at the District Headquarters level.
The Cultural troupe of J&K Police Public School, Kupwara bagged Second Position whereas the March Past contingent of the school secured Consolation Prize held at the District Headquarters level. The Cultural troupe and March past contingent of J&K Police Public School Anantnag got Consolation Prizes in both events held at the District Headquarters level.
The District Administration Baramulla awarded a trophy of appreciation to Ms Ulfat Aziz, Principal, J&K Police Public School, Baramulla on the occasion of Independence Day.
Dilbag Singh, Chief Patron (DGP J&K), Dr Rubinder Kaur, Chairperson, J&K PWWA/PPSs Schools and members of the Management Committee congratulated the Administrative Officers, Principals, Staff and Students of all J&K Police Public Schools on the occasion and appreciated them for meticulously organising the Independence Day functions in their respective schools.
