Ganderbal, July 13: J&K Police District Ganderbal has apprehended six gamblers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gund in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The operation resulted in the seizure of stake money, playing cards, and two vehicles.
Acting on reliable information, and under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Sandeep Gupta-IPS, a police team led by SHO PS Gund Lateef Ahmad, and supervised by SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan-JKPS, conducted a raid on a hotel in Kullan village after obtaining a search warrant from the Executive Magistrate. During the raid, six individuals were caught red-handed while gambling in a hotel room. Stake money amounting to Rs. 98,000 and playing cards were seized on the spot.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Javaid Ahmad Najar, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Najar, resident of Nagbal, Mohd Amin Bhat, son of Gh Qadir Bhat, resident of Malshahibagh Ganderbal.
Mohd Abdullah Shah, son of Ab Kareem Shah, resident of PandachNagbal, Ab Rashid Ganaie, son of Gh Mohd Ganaie, resident of Nagbal, Ab Rashid Mir, son of Mohd Akbar Mir, resident of BusarbughShuhama, Mohd Yusuf Parray, son of Gh Mohd Parray, resident of KhalmullahNagbal.
Additionally, two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK16C-0432 (Alto) and JK01AU-0179 (Eco Van) were also seized during the operation.
A case (FIR No. 36/2024) has been registered at PS Gund under the relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.
