New Delhi, Nov 21: Calling upon the industry leaders, EEPC India and other stakeholders for creating new opportunities for businesses in engineering goods and services, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha shared the efforts of the UT Administration to optimise the immense potential of the business and Industry sector in Jammu Kashmir.
Sinha commended India’s global standing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the country’s role in global growth and its accelerating economic progress. He spoke at the felicitation ceremony for the recipients of the prestigious 52nd and 53rd EEPC India National Export Awards for fiscal years 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Expressing optimism about the growth of the engineering goods sector, Sinha congratulated the award winners and hoped their achievements would inspire sustained excellence in engineering goods export in the coming years. He noted the sector’s 7.2% growth compared to the previous year, attributing it to the relentless efforts of dynamic entrepreneurs and EEPC India in promoting the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
During the award ceremony, Lt. Governor Sinha invited industry leaders to witness the urban transformation in cities like Jammu and Srinagar and encouraged investment in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He assured full support and assistance from the UT administration, highlighting the favorable environment, connectivity, young talent, improved security, and infrastructure for industrial growth.
Emphasizing the endless possibilities for investors, Sinha positioned Jammu and Kashmir as a destination for those looking to capture new segments. He underscored the inclusive vision that aims to bring prosperity, focus on efficiency and productivity through technology and innovations, and ensure equitable and sustainable growth for ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
Expressing confidence in the engineering sector’s ability to translate India’s dreams into reality, Sinha was joined by key figures from EEPC India, including Chairman Arun Kumar Garodia, Vice Chairman Pankaj Chadha, Regional Chairman Pradeep Kumar Aggarwal, and Executive Director Suranjan Gupta, along with other industry leaders and exporters.
