Srinagar, Aug 23: J&K Kickboxing team emerged as an exceptional force to be reckoned with at the recently concluded WAKO India Kickboxing Championship of Juniors and Cadets 2023, held in Ranchi, Jharkhand. 23 players from the team clinched victories across various categories and events.
The championship witnessed fierce competition among 26 states and 6 UT’s from across the country, with an impressive participation of 2500 talented kick boxers. J&K participated with a contingent of 54 players and 4 coaches and showcased their mettle on the kickboxing arena.
The athletes from WAKO J&K showcased their outstanding dedication, skill, and determination throughout the tournament. Their efforts bore fruit as an impressive 23 players clinched victories across various categories and events.
“The collective excellence of WAKO J&K kickboxing talents shone brightly as the state bagged a total of 12 gold, 05 silver, and 06 bronze medals. This remarkable achievement underscores the dedication and hard work of the athletes and serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes across the UT,” said Abhishek Jain, General Secretary of kickboxing association J&K.
Team was escorted by Team manager Irfan Choudhary and officials Pankaj Kumar and Sudarshan Singh. The Coaches Wasim Shah, Vishal, Deepanshu and Monika Bhan congratulated the players for their future success.
