Srinagar, Feb 15: The Custodian Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government will geo-tag the all evacuee properties within 15 days.
This was disclosed by the Custodian General (CG)of Jammu and Kashmir Rishpal Singh, who is on three day visit to Kashmir.
Talking exclusively to Rising Kashmir, Custodian General said that the geo-tagging of all evacuee properties is currently underway at full speed. He stated that the entire process is expected to be completed within a span of fifteen days.
In response to a question about encroachments, Rishpal said that he has instructed officers to promptly address reports of encroachment on evacuee land in collaboration with the Revenue and Police departments.
He said that the officials have also directed to collaborate with district administration for effective management and protection of evacuee property.
The Custodian General said that they are identifying evacuee land suitable for commercial use, as well as other land that can be fenced with installation of signboards to prevent additional encroachment.
He, further, said that many tenants approached him with several issues among which some of the issues were addressed on the spot while the Custodian Kashmir has been directed for redressal of other genuine demands of the tenants within shortest possible time.
He, further, said that scanning of all records pertaining to the department will be completed up to ending February 2024.
The Director General expressed satisfication with significant accomplishments of the department, such as reconciling figures of identified evacuee land in collaboration with the Revenue Department in Kashmir division and reclaiming a substantial portion of evacuee land.
