Srinagar, Feb 7: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday instructed all government departments and officials to give priority and proper protocol to elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in the Union Territory.
As per Circular issued by the General Administration Department of J&K Government, officers must attend to elected representatives on priority, address their concerns efficiently, and maintain a professional and respectful approach in all interactions.
The circular emphasizes that elected representatives play a crucial role in governance at the grassroots level, and their communications, grievances, and requests should be acknowledged and processed without delay.
MLAs must be invited to official functions and meetings in their respective jurisdictions, especially during visits by dignitaries, it added.
The instructions have been issued for immediate and strict compliance across all departments to ensure that public representatives are given due importance in governance matters.
