J&K Govt appoints UT level nodal officers for 2024 LS Elections

Srinagar, Nov 6: In a significant move to facilitate the smooth and organised conduct of the forthcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha in 2024, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed Union Territory Level Nodal Officers. These officers have been assigned to oversee key areas and issues to ensure the elections run efficiently and without any hitches.
According to an order, sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of following Officers as Union territory Level Nodal Officers in respect of areas/issues indicatec against each, for smooth conduct of forthcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha, 2024.
Drinking Water and Sanitation: The proposed officer is the Administrative Secretary of the Jal Shakti Department.
Local Bodies: The proposed officer is the Administrative Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department.
Power: The proposed officer is the Administrative Secretary of the Power Development Department.
Public Works: The proposed officer is the Administrative Secretary of the Public Works Department.
Education: The proposed officer is the Administrative Secretary of the School Education Department.
Social Welfare: The proposed officer is the Administrative Secretary of the Social Welfare Department.
Sales Tax: The proposed officer is the Commissioner of State Taxes, J&K.
Transport: The proposed officer is the Managing Director of Jak Regional Transport Corporation.
Excise: The proposed officer is the Commissioner of the Excise Department.
Migrants: The proposed officer is the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner.
Banks and Financial Institutions: The proposed officer is the Chief Executive Officer of J&K Bank.
SLBC Convener: The proposed officers are the Chairman and Executive Officer of J&K Bank.
These appointments aim to ensure the efficient and coordinated management of various aspects of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory.
