Srinagar, Aug 09: To ensure a grand and patriotic celebration of the upcoming “Tiranga Yatra,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting with the senior officers of civil administration, police and security forces to review preparedness of the celebration.
The meeting was attended by Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; R K Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department; Lt General Rajiv Ghai, GOC 15 Corps; Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor; MK Sinha, ADGP Hqrs; Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and other senior officers of security forces, police and UT administration.
During the meeting, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized the significance of paying homage to the national tricolor and embracing the occasion with profound pride.
“It is also an opportunity to recall the great sacrifice of our freedom fighters, who secured us our freedom,” he added.
Highlighting the unity and integrity of the nation, Lt. Governor Sinha expressed his vision of citizens from all walks of life uniting for a remarkable walkathon. This walkathon, scheduled to take place from the historic KICC to the picturesque Botanical Garden on August 13, would serve as a tribute to the brave soldiers who have laid down their lives for the nation’s unity and integrity.
The meeting also delved into the meticulous preparations for the upcoming celebrations of “Mera Mati Mera Desh” and “Har Ghar Tiranga”.
