Jammu, Oct 25: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Tariq Hameed Karra on Friday held a five-hour marathon meeting at the party headquarters here to review the current political and security situation with senior leaders and party candidates from the Jammu region.
Karra conducted a detailed assessment of the political landscape and gathered feedback at the constituency level regarding the organisational structure and activities during the recent elections. Party candidates shared their insights and experiences from the election process.
Members of the fact-finding committee attended as special invitees. They noted the feedback and suggestions aimed at strengthening the organization down to the booth levels.
The meeting strongly condemned recent terrorist attacks, including an assault on an army convoy in Gulmarg, expressing deep shock over the loss of lives and injuries sustained. Participants voiced grave concern over the rising tide of terror incidents following the elections and called for a more effective strategy involving the newly elected government to combat terrorism and ensure citizen safety.
Attendees congratulated Karra on his landslide victory in the recent elections from Srinagar City, and Iftikhar Ahmed, elected from the Rajouri constituency, was also honoured during the meeting.
Candidates provided detailed input on the electoral process and organisational matters. They pledged full support to Karra in efforts to revitalize and strengthen the party across all levels.
In his address, Karra said the Congress party remains the only secular and democratic force capable of countering the “divisive agenda” of the BJP. He urged party leaders and candidates to stay connected with grassroots workers and to elevate common people’s issues before the government.
Meanwhile, the Fact-Finding Committee announced its schedule to visit different districts to engage with party workers.
