People of national capital have rejected corruption: Sat Sharma
Jammu, Feb 08: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir celebrated the party’s landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections with grand festivities across Jammu City. Party workers and supporters gathered in different areas, distributing sweets and dancing to the beat of drums to mark the occasion.
The top leadership of J&K BJP actively participated in the celebrations, saying the victory was due to the people’s unwavering confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
As counting trends consolidated in favour of the BJP on Saturday afternoon, jubilant party workers and leaders assembled at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar and the party’s old office at Kachi Chowni. Amidst loud cheers and patriotic slogans, they danced and shared sweets with the public to express their joy over the party’s triumph in Delhi.
J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, while speaking to reporters, said, “The people of Delhi have rejected corruption by voting for BJP. We salute the party leadership and workers for their relentless hard work.”
He further said that the victory belonged to the people, adding, “The national capital will now witness massive development with a double-engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Senior BJP leader Vikram Randhawa commended Delhi voters for making an informed choice, saying, “This is the victory of nationalism. Winning the national capital is a significant achievement for the party.”
BJP MLA Shagun Parihar asserted that the party’s win marked the end of AAP’s so-called governance model. “AAP’s deception and dishonesty have been rejected by the people. BJP will fulfill all its promises and live up to the expectations of those who have placed their trust in us,” she said.
BJP MLA Yudhvir Sethi declared that the party’s symbol, the lotus, blooming in Delhi signalled the downfall of AAP. “Instead of working for the people, AAP spent its tenure abusing the Prime Minister, BJP, and the Delhi Lieutenant Governor. Their time is now over,” he said.
