Srinagar, July 11: In line with the Union Government’s ambitious drive to ensure universal access to financial services, J&K Bank today conducted Mega Camps across all its clusters in the country, with special focus on Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
According to a statement issued here, the initiative is part of a Three-Month  awareness-cum-saturation campaign to promote flagship financial inclusion schemes like PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and re-verification of KYC for inactive PMJDY accounts along with issuance of Rupay Card and emphasis upon availing nomination facility.
The mega camps were held today in all the twenty districts of Jammu & Kashmir along with Ladakh and were attended by people in large numbers besides elected local public representatives, officials from district administrations, Lead District Managers and other senior Bank officials.
Commenting on these camps, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee said, “Financial empowerment begins with access, and this campaign enables us to reach out directly to the unserved and underserved sections of society. These camps are a reflection of our commitment to extend the benefits of social security and pension schemes to the last mile.”
Aimed at saturating all eligible citizens under these social security schemes, the campaign is designed to enhance awareness, facilitate enrolments, and ensure re-verification where needed. The Bank has mobilised its extensive branch and Business Correspondent network to support this drive, especially in rural and remote locations.
The initiative received active participation from members of the local communities, many of whom were enrolled in these schemes for the first time. The Bank staff also provided financial literacy and counselling sessions on saving habits, availing nomination facility for smooth transfer of savings to legal heirs, insurance, pension, and digital banking.“Such campaigns significantly contribute to building a financially inclusive society,” said one of the participants present at one of these camps. “We appreciate J&K Bank’s dedicated efforts toward realising the vision of inclusive growth”, he said. The Bank will continue to hold similar camps  through the campaign period, in close coordination with local administration, to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out.
