Srinagar, Dec 30: On Saturday marked the conclusion of a comprehensive 21-day Residential Coaching Camp and Screening Test for the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Senior Ball Badminton Men’s and Women’s teams. The event, held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar witnessed the selection of players for the upcoming 69th Senior National Ball Badminton Championship.
The selected and screened players, a total of 69 individuals, are set to depart on January 2, 2024, to represent the J&K teams in the prestigious 69th Senior National Ball Badminton Championship for Men and Women 2023-24. This championship is scheduled to take place in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, from January 6 to January 10, 2024.
The screening process was overseen by a team from the J&K Sports Council, featuring key members including Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar (Manager of Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar), Dr. Mohd Akbar Khan (Member of the Sports Council), Shabir Ahmad Shah (Junior Assistant, J&K Sports Council), and Ms. Arsheena Ashraf (General Secretary of J&K Ball Badminton Association & Vice-President of Ball Badminton Federation of India).
Members of the association and esteemed national players lent their expertise and presence during the rigorous screening test. Their collective effort was crucial in finalizing the squads that will represent Jammu and Kashmir in this significant national championship.
The successful culmination of the coaching camp and screening test not only showcased the talent and dedication of the selected players but also highlighted the collaborative efforts of the sports council and the expertise of national-level players and officials in identifying top-tier talent for national representation.
