Srinagar, Nov 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly session was adjourned for 15 minutes on Thursday after protests by BJP members, who demanded that a resolution seeking the restoration of Article 370 be withdrawn.
The situation escalated when Sheikh Khursheed, brother of Engineer Rashid, entered the center of the house holding a banner that read, “We want restoration of Article 370 & 35A, and release of all political prisoners.” BJP MLAs responded by loudly opposing him.
To support Khursheed, leaders from various parties, including Sajad Lone, Waheed Para, and National Conference members, moved into the center of the house. However, they were also met with heckling from BJP members.
The session was ultimately adjourned for 15 minutes with both sides remaining firm on their positions regarding Article 370.
