Jammu, Jan 03: Jammu’s First Football Fest organised by Batra Group and Pegasus Sports Academy started on Tuesday morning at the mini stadium football ground parade here. The event was kicked off by Bhisham Batra, Director Batra Group and President Pegasus Sports Academy.
The football fest will be played in 2 phases from the January 3 to 8, and from January 9 to 12.
On an inaugural day, Young Heroes Defeated Vijay Football Club in Penalty Shootout, while FC United Kathua defeated Young Rovers, Ascoms FC was given a Walkover.
On the occasion, Bhisham Batra said, “We are happy to see the response from both boys as well as girls teams, Our main focus is to develop football culture in Jammu and also give our local players a chance to play regular football.”
“In previous tournaments, we have seen many teams get players from outside the UT of J&K, especially Punjab and Delhi. This culture was demotivating our young players. So we have organised this Football Fest for J&K and Ladakh Players only.”
