The Srinagar-Jammu national highway remained closed on Sunday for the second consecutive day due to landslides.
Traffic department officials said that multiple landslides were triggered by incessant rain in the Ramban district.
A J K Traffic department official said, “Jammu Srinagar NHW is closed due to damaged road at Panthyal.”
“Restoration work is in progress and People are advised to avoid journey on NH-44 till the road is clear”, he said.

It is pertinent to mention that traffic remained suspended along 270 kilometres of Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Saturday after heavy rainfall triggered multiple landslides and shooting stones in the Ramban district.
This is the third widespread wet spell in Kashmir valley following the 2 month long dry spell. Prevailing weather conditions will continue to prevail till March 03 afternoon in Jammu and Kashmir.
