Jammu District Squash Championship 2023 kicks off amidst enthusiasm, support

Jammu, Aug 28: The Jammu District Squash Championship 2023 was inaugurated with fervor by Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director Health, Jammu, on Monday at the esteemed K. C. Sports Club in Jammu. The championship, a pinnacle event in the local squash calendar, has drawn attention from players, enthusiasts, and officials alike.
Organized by the District Jammu Squash Association under the esteemed patronage of the J&K Squash Rackets Association and proudly sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, this championship promises to showcase the region’s budding squash talents. The event is an opportunity for players to demonstrate their skills and dedication on a competitive platform.
Gracing the occasion as the guest of honor was Nishchal Kapahi, Director of Kapahi Contracts Pvt. Limited company. His presence highlighted the significance of corporate support for sporting initiatives within the community.
The chief guest, while addressing the gathering during the opening ceremony, extended his commendations to the participating players hailing from the Jammu region. He expressed his gratitude towards the J&K Squash Rackets Association for orchestrating this district-level tournament, emphasizing its crucial role in fostering the growth and visibility of squash as a sport within Jammu and Kashmir.
The championship is characterized by a diverse participation across different categories, reflecting the inclusivity and breadth of talent within the local squash community. Held at the state-of-the-art Squash Courts of K.C. Sports Club Jammu, the tournament has garnered significant backing from the J&K Sports Council, reaffirming their commitment to nurturing sports at the grassroots level.
The thrilling competition, marked by fierce matches and remarkable sportsmanship, is set to unfold over the course of several days, culminating in an anticipated conclusion on August 29. As players push their limits and spectators cheer on, the Jammu District Squash Championship 2023 serves as a symbol of the region’s sporting prowess and collective passion for squash.
