Kathua, Jan 20: DDC Chairman Kathua Col Mahan Singh (Retd) on Friday said the Jal Jeevan Mission envisaged by the government is all set to resolve the archaic water crisis in Kandi belts forever. He was speaking after the inauguration of a Tube well at Patwani locality in Tridwan Panchayat of Hatli in Kathua area. DDC Member, Keerian Gandyal, and Shaveta Kumari accompanied the DDC Chairman during the inauguration ceremony of the newly-constructed tube well.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairman assured the people that potable water availability in village Tridwan (Hatli) will be well catered as the project worth Rs 6 crore encompasses three Water Supply Schemes, laying of new water supply lines and the development of allied infrastructure which will fulfill the drinking water needs of all the inhabitants.
“The J&K government has been able to address the issues of people which they were confronting since ages only because of visionary insight of PM Narendra Modi who took a personal interest in finding out remedies to the problems which people faced in the region due to indifference of successive governments that ruled the region in the past,” Col Mahan said.
The DDC Chairman expressed gratitude to PM Modi for launching the JJM to resolve perennial problems of drinking water in the Kandi regions of the Kathua district. “Time is not far when the dream of Har Ghar Nal Se Jal will be fulfilled in the Kandi belt,” he said.
DDC Lohai Malhar, Sarpanch Tridwan, Sarpanch Hatli, XEN Jalshakti Deptt and Staff, and locals were also present in large numbers.
