Awantipora, Mar 18: The Habba Khatoon Centre for Kashmiri Language and Literature (HKCKL&L), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), is organising a one-day seminar on ‘Sustainable Growth: Balancing Tradition and Modernity in Kashmiri Art, and Culture’ on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The seminar is being sponsored by Indian Council for Social Science and Research (ICSSR), North Western Regional Centre, Chandigarh. The event that will witness participation from different places of the country aims to preserve the invaluable art forms for future generations.
“Preserving Kashmiri art is not only about safeguarding cultural heritage, but also about maintaining the region’s unique history and identity,” said Dr. Afshana, Coordinator, HKCKL&L. “Through a multi-faceted approach involving research, education, community engagement and technology, we aim to ensure that these invaluable art forms continue to inspire, and enrich future generations,” she added. This seminar seeks to address these challenges, showcase the profound beauty and significance of these art forms, and discuss practical strategies for their preservation,” she said, adding that the seminar will explore strategies to maintain this balance and ensure the flourishing of Kashmiri art for the generations to come.
