Awantipora, Aug 12: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) organized a painting competition in celebration of Independence Day, focusing on themes of social development, environmental sustainability, growth, and progress.
The competition saw participation from scores of students. The Registrar of IUST, Prof. Wahid Makdoomi, awarded certificates to all participants and presented special awards to the creators of the best paintings.
In his remarks, Prof. Makdoomi emphasized the importance of such competitions in fostering creativity and raising awareness about social and environmental issues. He reiterated IUST’s commitment to providing a supportive platform for students to express their artistic talents and engage with meaningful themes.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Asifa Baba, Dean of Students, with Dr. Munejah Khan, Dr. Afroze Bisati, and Dr. Ruheela Hassan serving as the jury.
