Awantipora, April 19: Continuing with the initiatives of exposing faculty, scholars and students to advance in science and technology, an interactive session was organized at IUST, today. Distinguished Scientist, Prof. Autar Mattoo (USD- ARS) and academician Prof. B. L Zutshi were the special invitees on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor IUST welcomed the guests and gave them an overview of the University highlighting the thrust areas of research being pursued, promotion of Kashmiri Language, Culture and Civilizational history that spans millennia etc.
Prof. Autar Mattoo shared his experience of working across different countries of the world and emphasized the importance of persistence and perseverance in research. He said that science offers boundless opportunities and stressed on fostering a culture of dedication and devotion.
He answered queries from the young researchers about the opportunities and challenges and said that for science to flourish, curiosity has to be nurtured and advised the students and scholars to cultivate an inquisitive spirit.
Prof. B. L Zutshi also spoke on the occasion and said that IUST symbolizes cultural synthesis that Kashmir has been known for ages. The event was coordinated by Prof. A. H. Moon and Dr. Hilal Ahmad Makroo conducted the proceedings.
