Awantipora, Dec 15: In the Master Chef India, Season 8, Dr. Rukhsaar Syeed Alumna of IUST rose to the second runner’s up position bringing laurels to her Alma Mater. A Food technologist who graduated from the Food Science and Technology department of IUST, Dr Rukhsaar is an inspiration demonstrating that hard work & perseverance herald success.
Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice chancellor IUST, congratulating Dr. Rukhsaar said that she has shown the way for others to think innovative and work hard to realize their dreams. He said that IUST in alignment with the NEP 2020 has devised a strategic plan to promote innovation and start-up culture among the youth. He said that IUST’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development provides seed Capital to the aspiring entrepreneurs and mentors them along their Entrepreneurial journeys.
Prof. Romshoo said that recognising the need to imbibe the qualities of critical and analytical thinking among the students, IUST has come up with an innovative Four Years Under Graduate Degree Programme Academic Programme under Design your Degree Mode. He said that the DYOD gives freedom to a student to steer their own learning with special emphasis on their gaining hands-on experience, practitioners’ training, internships etc.
Dean Academics Affairs, Prof. A. H. Moon said that a new wave of young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs promises a prosperous future. He said that HEIs have a tremendous role to play in this regard and IUST’s Design your Degree programme would be a game changer for its innovative pedagogical approach and learning outcomes.
