Islamia College organizes induction sessions for students of DYD programme

Srinagar, Jan 23: A five days induction programme/sessions for the first batch of students admitted to the four years programme, Design Your Degree (DYD) commenced at Islamia College Srinagar.
The programme was chaired by the Principal of the College, Professor (Dr.) Khurshid Ahmad Khan.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Khan welcomed the first batch of DYD students to the campus and said that under DYD students will have the freedom to customize their academic paths based on their potential and interests. He further congratulated the enrolled students of DYD and talked about the holistic approach that DYD promises at Islamia College campus.
Coordinator of the programme, Prof. Qayoom said that Islamia College is the first Valley College to introduce an innovative four-year undergraduate degree programme called ‘Design You Degree’ (DYD). He added that this exceptional initiative is set to transform higher education and revolutionize the way students pursue their academic aspirations.
Coordinator of DYD at ICSC Prof. Sajad Sarvar said that (DYD) program is conceptualized to foster an environment of self-discovery and exploration so that the students can identify their true calling and build a fulfilling career to contribute towards knowledge economy and in this direction Islamia College is the first college to start this course.
First batch students of DYD visited different facilities available at ICSC and engaged in hands-on sessions with the mentors of the DYD course.
 Speaking on the occasion, mentors of the DYD course in the College said that DYD shall provide students with a chance to craft a personalized, interdisciplinary learning experience. DYD will allow students to select courses from diverse fields of study which will equip students with a well-rounded education that nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability.
